are three geographical regions in Nepal: (1) Himalayan
Region(ranging from 4,877 m – 8,848 m and including
8 of the 14 highest mountains in the world, that exceed
an altitude of 8,000 m), (2) MountainRegion (occupying
68% of the total land area and being formed by Mahabharat
range that soars up to 4,877 m and the lower Churia
range). (3) Terai Region (occupying 17% of the total
land of the country). |
