beautiful places of interest to visit outside the
valley within short distance, time & drive: |
Pokhara
Valley is situated at the distance of
200km west of Kathmandu, Pokhara is the most Picturesque
place in Nepal enhanced by the lovely lakes Phewa,
Begnas & Rupa Tal, means the lakes in Pokhara.
The elevation of Pokhara is only 827m above the
sea level & is connected by air or road from
Kathmandu/ Bhairahawa, a small border town near
India. One can do Fishing, Swimming or Boating
on the lakes and view thebeauty of the mountains
like Machhapuchchhre (The Fishtail), Dhaulagiri,
Manaslu, Five Peaks of Annapurna and others. |

Lumbini:
The birthplace of Lord Buddha, the Light of Asia
lies on the southern part of Nepal.Most of the
people come to this place for pilgrimage purpose.
This place is 250 km South-west of Kathmandu and
could be reached within 8hrs from Kathmandu or
by flight to Bhairahawa which takes about 55 minutes
flight time. Thailand, Korea, Burma (Myanmar),
Japan, China & Nepal itself are trying to
develop the holy site contributing or constructing
different Monasteries, prayer hall etc and the
site is about 3hrs by car or bus from Tansen via
Bhairahawa.The broken Ashokan Pillar, holy remnants
of an old Buddhist monastery, divines images of
Queen Maya Devi, the mother of Lord Buddha, Puskarni
the holy pond where Queen Maya Devi took bath
before to give birth to Lord Buddha, a sacred
pool is well preserved. Many Buddhist countries
like Japan, Myanmar, Vietnam & Nepal is contributing
& constructing several stupas & Prayer
Halls to make the place more attractive. |
Chitwan,
situated 120km southwest of Kathmandu is
the largest forest region in Nepal. The
largest Royal Chitwan National Park in Asia
offers a wide range of Wild life,one can
enjoy the Jungle Adventure with different
activities in this part. |

Kakani,
which is located at the distance of 29 km
northwest of Kathmandu is the fabulous holiday
place which features beautiful alpine scenery
to the magnificent Himalayan panorama of
the Ganesh Himal massif, Gaurishankar (7,134m),Choba
Bhamre (6,109m), Manaslu (8163m), Himalchuli
(7,893m), Annapurna(8,091& several other
peaks. |
As
the same Dhulikhel, the
ancient town is situated at the distance
of 30 km east of Kathmandu on the side of
Arniko Highway. One can have complete panoramic
view of the snowy ranges from Karyolung
in the east to Himalchuli in the west. |
Timal
Narayan is an ideal place for short
Trek from Dhulikhel with family. It is very
pleasant to visit the Tamang village &
the people. From here, one can enjoy the
beautiful views of different mountains &

Palanchwok
Bhagawati is situated on a small
hilltop 41 km north east of Kathmandu, on
the way to Kodari. Here is a temple of Bhagawati
(Goddess of Power) which has a three feet
high beautiful artistic black stone image
of Bhagawati, an easy drive or good walk
will be sufficient to reach. |
Daman,
a peaceful and calm place to visit is situated
at the distance of 80 miles Southwest of
Kathmandu. There is a view tower fitted
with long-range telescopes.There is no better
place than Daman to view the breathtaking
grandeur of the Mountains from Mt Everest
in the east to Dhaulagiri in the west. |
